The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the views and opinions of preschool and classroom (1-5 grade) teachers in mainstreaming practices in Kosovo. Qualitative research method was used in the research and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 teachers in the classroom. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed by inductive data analysis technique. As a result of the inductive data analysis, the data were transformed into themes and the findings of the research were reached.
Based on the findings of this study, it can be said that teachers have positive opinions about the necessity of inclusive education but generally they have problems in mainstreaming practices in their classrooms and schools. The majority of the teachers who stated that the application of inclusion has a lot of benefits to students with special needs has suggested that families and managers should be the most important supporters of this process and that they should be given education about inclusion. In addition, teachers have made various suggestions for the implementation of inclusive education in Kosovo.
